TSA Newark Nabs PA Man Trying To Board Plane With .357 Revolver
A Pennsylvania man was arrested at Newark Airport over the weekend with an unloaded .357-caliber revolver in his carry-on, the TSA said. The Bethlehem, PA traveler was nabbed after the weapon was spotted going through an X-ray scanner at a Terminal C security checkpoint on Sunday, Jan. 29, the Transportation Security Administration’s Lisa Farbstein said. A patrolman has been arrested for driving under the influence, according to a release by police and public records. Daniel A. Benscics, 33, of Bethlehem, was arrested following a traffic stop on Dec. 12 at 2 a.m., according to Lititz Borough police. Benscics was initially stopped for unsafe driving, but with police for he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, he was taken into custody, as stated in the release. Nicholas Santiago, 20, of Bethlehem, PA, was riding in a car down South 15th Street when it veered off the road and struck a tree, according to the Allentown Police Department and the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
