Driver Wanted In Hit-And-Run Crash That Killed Pedestrian In South Jersey Police in Absecon are looking for whoever killed a pedestrian and left the scene of a crash, authorities said. The pedestrian died in the hit-and-run crash just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, Absecon police said in a news release. It happened on Route 30 West, just east of Turner Avenue and near the Executive Lodge motel. Investigators said the driver did not stop and left the victim without any help. 'Abducted Child' Not Found In South Jersey Woods, Authorities Say A neighborhood report of a child abduction in South Jersey turned out to be false, authorities said.  About 11 p.m. Monday, a caller told police that they witnessed an unidentified man force a 7- or 8-year-old boy into the woods, police said. Police ID Atlantic County Driver, 44, Killed When Car Hits Tree Authorities have identified an Atlantic County driver who was killed early Sunday when his car struck a tree. Glen Mclean, 44, of Pleasantville, was traveling north about 2:30 a.m. on South Shore Road in Absecon when his car careened off the road and went airborne before hitting the tree, Absecon police said.  Mclean was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Speeding likely contributed to the crash, according to police. There were no passengers in his car. An investigation is continuing.
