'I Love You, Goodbye': Romanian Traveler Caught, GF Gone After Pickpocketing Bust: Montvale PD
"I love you," a woman told her fellow Romanian traveler after Montvale police arrested him for pickpocketing an elderly victim. "Goodbye."
And she was gone.
A wallet that Robert P. Nuta, a 31-year-old fugitive wanted out of Florida, swiped from the late-70-something victim outside Wegman's held $100 in cash, credit cards and a Social Security card, Montvale Police Chief Douglas McDowell said.
The victim's cellphone also was taken, the chief said.

Victor Vilela, a 42-year-old Elizabeth native, died on Monday, July 24, after a 17-year battle with brain cancer, according to his obituary.
Born in Elizabeth, Vilela was an active member of a brain tumor support group and worked at Elizabeth General Hospital, ShopRite in Linden and Wegmans in Woodbridge, his obituary reads.
He is survived by his wife, Meghan, his son, Mauricio, his parents, Maria and Acacio, his sister Sonia as well as other family members, according to his obituary.
Following his death, Vilela's tribute wall was filled with remembrances.

Undeclared Anchovies Prompts Recall Of Pasta Sauce Sold At Some Wegmans Stores
A recall has been issued for a popular brand of tomato sauce sold at Wegmans supermarkets.
The manufacturer, LiDestri Foods, said 24-ounce jars of Wegmans Italian Classics Diavolo pasta sauce may contain undeclared fish (anchovy).
"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to anchovy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.," the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said.

Freehold Man Charged With Coughing On Worried Wegmans Worker, Saying He Has Coronavirus
A Freehold man who got too close to a Wegmans employee coughed on her when she expressed concern and told her he had the coronavirus, leading to criminal charges, authorities said.
The worker expressed a genuine concern that George Falcone, 50, was standing too close to her and an open display of prepared foods at the Wegmans on Route 9 in Manalapan, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said Tuesday.
She asked him to step back as she covered the food, but Falcone got closer, leaned over and purposely coughed, Grewal said.
