After spending nearly three years in state prison, a recently-released Paterson parolee was caught with a loaded gun thanks to a city surveillance camera, authorities said. Paterson PD: Driver Who Ran Stop Sign Had Loaded Gun In Waistband
A driver stopped by Paterson police detectives for running a stop sign had a loaded handgun tucked into his waistband, authorities said. Detectives Mustafa Dombayci and Joseph Aboyoun smelled burnt marijuana coming from a Toyota Camry with Massachusetts license plates that they'd stopped on Hamilton Avenue, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said Sunday. Paterson Police Called To Street Fight Seize Illegal Handgun
Paterson police responding to a report of a late-night street fight seized a city man who they said pulled a semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and tossed it away as they approached him. Nazere Trent, 19, remained held in the Passaic County Jail on Monday following his arrest just after 11 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 11th Avenue and East 23rd Street, records show.
