Monmouth University pollsters have tried to answer a question that has been hard to solve for many in the Garden State: Where is Central Jersey exactly? One Caught, On Sought: Pair Wanted In Paterson Armed Robberies Pursued Through Fair Lawn
A police pursuit through Fair Lawn of two men wanted for a pair of armed robberies in Paterson ended, as Christmas Eve began, with one caught and the other sought. Authorities had been looking for a stolen Chevy Colorado pickup truck used in both holdups, including the robbery of a 7-Eleven on Ryerson Avenue around midnight on Friday, Dec. 22. UPDATE: Police were justified in killing an armed ex-con wanted for shooting a New Milford woman in Elmwood Park, a grand jury has found. James Allandale, 61, immediately opened fire on officers who found him at the Knights Inn Pinebook on Route 46 in Montville this past New Year's Eve. He was shot and killed in the exchange of gunfire. A Hackensack police officer was hospitalized Friday following a collision on his way to a call. Initial details were scant apart from word that the officer was headed to a report of a fight in the area of Atlantic and Main streets, with his emergency lights on, when his cruiser collided with a commercial van in front of the 7-Eleven at the corner of Essex and Newman streets before 9:30 a.m. Aug. 18. A Bronx man was captured by Elmwood Park police moments after he swiped a sedan from outside a local 7-Eleven early Wednesday, authorities said.
