Newburgh's First Street Reconstruction Project Begins Wednesday NEWBURGH, N.Y. – A reconstruction project on First Street between Front Street and the First Street Fishing Pier will begin on Wednesday. Planned work includes installation of decorative crosswalks and a pedestrian plaza at the fishing pier entrance.  The pedestrian plaza will include new landscaping, lighting benches and a bike rack.  During construction, motorists should expect some traffic delays. Access to the fishing pier will also be limited.  Officials expect work to be completed by early December.

Stewart-Based 105th Airlift Wing Heads To Florida To Aid In Irma Relief NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. – Stewart Air National Guard Base's 105th Airlift Wing has spent the last week working in the wake of Hurricane Irma.  The 105th was aiding in relief efforts in Puerto Rico last week and will now head to Florida to set up the Joint Incident Site Communications Capability (JISCC). The JISCC allows airmmen to quickly set up internet, voice over IP and other modes of communication.  Hurricane Irma, which was once the strongest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, made landfall in mainland Florida on Sunday. It's path of destruction has left millions without power.
