Lodi Memorial Library hosted an adult coloring event on Thursday, attracting all different ages and demographics.
"It is the hot new craze. Everybody is doing it," Adult Reference Librarian Jayne St. George said.
Adult coloring as a source of stress relief has been around for over a decade, but the latest trend was partly assisted by arts and crafts company Crayola releasing a line specifically for adults.
The process is meant to unwind stress by having participants focus on something else.
"During the process, you have to kind of focus, yet you get to be creative and pick whatever colors and when you’re done you have that sense of accomplishment," Lodi resident Genevieve Callahan said.
Lodi Memorial Library intends to host the event on the last Thursday of every month. St. George hopes to make the experience more community focused.
"It’s supposed to be a communal and social thing. Talk and meet people who like the same thing you do, share ideas, or crayons," St. George said.
