Authorities Try To ID Body Of Woman Pulled From Waters Off Bayonne
An autopsy will help determine whether the death of a woman whose body was pulled from Newark Bay was suspicious. The body was recovered near Stephen R. Gregg Park in Bayonne around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, said Caitlin Mota of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. Authorities hadn't identified her as of late Wednesday afternoon. Watch As Lifeguard With Prosthetic Leg Rescues Driver From Sinking Car In Bayonne
A local swimming instructor with a prosthetic leg happened to be in the right place at the right time Tuesday, when a 68-year-old driver who couldn't swim accidentally sent his car into the Newark Bay in Bayonne. The British Swim School instructor and lifeguard -- 29-year-old Anthony Capuano -- went in after him. And the entire rescue was caught on tape. Boy, 12, Lied About Violent Attack In Bayonne: Police
A young boy has been charged with making a false report to law enforcement for telling police that he’d been jumped and robbed following a basketball game, Lt. Eric Amato of the Bayonne Police Department said Thursday. The boy, who was not identified because of his age, told police on May 1 that a few weeks earlier, on April 12, he played basketball with a group of other kids at Stephen R. Gregg Park.
