A funeral service is scheduled this weekend for a former Bergen County fitness entrepreneur and hospital philanthropist who died suddenly at her Florida home. The circumstances surrounding the death of Nanci Perle Kushner on Monday, March 21, haven’t been made public. Previously from Cresskill, the 56-year-old New York native had been living in Boca Raton, FL, records show. Pier 1 Imports To Close Trio Of North Jersey Stores
Pier 1 imports will be closing three of its North Jersey stores. The Paramus (Route 4 East), Edgewater and East Hanover stores are among the 450 locations nationwide to shutter. The Paramus location is expected to close in late February, NJ.com reports, although its Route 17 store in Paramus will remain open. It is unclear when the other two stores will shutter. Merchandise is listed at between 20 and 40 percent off.

Paramus Toys 'R' Us Landlord Wants Lease Blocked From Raymour & Flanigan
Not so fast, Raymour & Flanigan. Less than two weeks after the furniture store bid $1.3 to take over the lease of the Route 4 east Toys R Us store in Paramus, the building's landlord has asked Bankruptcy Court to block the sale, NorthJersey.com reports. Property owner N.T. Hegeman Co., Ltd., cites a provision in the 46-year-old building lease prohibiting assigning the lease to furniture stores, the article says. PARAMUS, N.J. -- ShopRite of Paramus on Route 4 East has issued a voluntary recall of store-made Signature Chili Chicken Wings with a sell-by date of Feb. 8. The wings were made on Feb. 3 and sold that day and the following, the store announced. Only the chili variety is being recalled, the announcement says.
