A 20-year-old Fairview man was hospitalized with a collapsed lung after his girlfriend stabbed him with a pair of scissors for calling her by another woman's name, authorities said. A dozen people were hospitalized Monday morning after a New Jersey Transit bus rear-ended another, sending it into a guardrail, on their way to the Lincoln Tunnel. Port Authority Tunnel and Bridge agents had to cut off the doors and spread the stairwell to get to those injured on the bus that veered off the road and struck the guardrail on the ramp from the northbound New Jersey Turnpike to eastbound Route 495 in Secaucus around 7:15 a.m. Ten passengers and both drivers were hospitalized, responders said. The Fairview Ambulance Corps officially ceased operations Monday, having been replaced by Holy Name Medical Center's Emergency Medical Services Department. A former physician’s assistant living in Ridgefield gathered more than 10,000 files of child pornography – more than 10% of which he shared with others – said authorities who arrested him Friday. Charbel “Charlie” Chaoul, 29, was taken into custody after the court-warranted search of his home, located on a short extension of northbound Bergen Boulevard that splits off toward Route 5. EDGEWATER, N.J. -- A 12-year-old girl who was whacked by the side mirror of a turning car as she crossed busy River Road in Edgewater over the weekend was doing fine, authorities said. "She was conscious and alert and taken to Palisades General Hospital for follow-up care" after being struck Saturday afternoon near the Maramis Cafe, Police Chief Donald Martin told Daily Voice. The girl required surgery for a severe chin cut, responders said. The driver received a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
