Cory Newman, 46, previously served most of a 51-month sentence following a 2007 conviction on similar charges, records show. Homeland Security Investigations agents "discovered electronic devices containing numerous videos and images of children being sexually abused" during a raid of Newman's Pacific Avenue home in May 2021, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sean Figaro, 35, rejected a deal from prosecutors, went to trial and was convicted by federal jurors Camden in July 2019 of selling heroin, gun possession by a convicted felon and witness tampering, among other charges.
