: Massive Passaic Warehouse Blaze Stopped From Reaching 50 Tons Of Chlorine
UPDATE: Authorities on Saturday said they'd finally gotten a massive industrial complex fire in Passaic under control nearly a dozen hours after it broke out. More than 200 firefighters fought the 11-alarm blaze, which forced evacuations of nearby homes, sent potentially dangerous smoke into the air and prompted officials to urge residents to keep their windows closed. The smoke reportedly was spotted on weather radar. Hawthorne Dye Company Blaze Doused
A Friday morning basement fire blew through the roof of an industrial dye company in Hawthorne. The 5th Avenue fire at Rainbow Specialty Colors broke out around 9:30 a.m. and went to two alarms. Firefighters reported it under control less than an hour later. Hawthorne firefighters were joined by their Glen Rock, Paterson and Wyckoff colleagues, among others.

Fire In Lodi Industrial Building Doused
Sprinklers helped douse a fire in a Lodi industrial building Sunday night. Firefighters "were met with heavy smoke and an activated sprinkler head," the borough fire department said. Crews stretched a hose line into the building, located the source of the fire and extinguished it, the department said. No injuries were reported. Firefighters from Garfield, Saddle Brook and Wallington assisted their colleagues at the Del Glenn Avenue blaze. Their Rochelle Park and Maywood colleagues covered the borough for them.
