Bricks, Concrete Fall From Hawthorne HS Building
Chunks of a Hawthorne High School parapet gave way Tuesday afternoon, raining bricks and concrete that damaged vehicles parked below. There was no immediate answer for what might have caused the chunks to come loose along a 60-foot stretch of the back of the Science Building's façade facing the athletic field on Bamford Avenue on Sept. 12. No work was being done at the time, responders said. The collapsed section of parapet wall pulled a swatch of the frieze down with it. A few vehicles were damaged.Boyd A. The video shows a dash around the Subway on Diamond Bridge Avenue across Lafayette Avenue. The cub might have felt the town was just right: Hawthorne High School’s sports teams are called the Bears, after all. Although cubs can be separated from their mothers at times, mama could be near, wildlife experts warn. So approaching them isn’t a good idea. Best to call the NJ Division…

: Autistic North Jersey Teen Has Photographic Musical Memory
Play any song once for Hawthorne's Anthony Puluse and he'll give you every single beat correctly on the drums. It's a talent the 15-year-old's parent discovered when he was 2 -- not long after he was diagnosed with autism -- when they noticed he was constantly tapping his fingers on his own body. Anthony's teachers suspected it was a behavior problem that needed to be tamed, but his parents had a hunch it was something more -- an incredible gift. A photographic musical memory. On Sunday, Anthony shined on stage at the Hawthorne Bandshell's Fight 4 Autism III, playing songs by Green Day, M…
