Wayne Schools Earn 'Fuel Up And Play' Hometown Grant WAYNE, N.J. -- Three township schools were awarded a Fuel Up and Play 60 Hometown grant to fund physical education and nutrition materials and supplies. Anthony Wayne Middle School, Ryerson, and Pines Lake Elementary Schools will share the $10,000 grant sponsored by the American Daily Association to foster sound nutrition based on a good breakfast, and more healthy lifestyles. Fuel Up and Play 60 is supported by the National Football League, and New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer visited Wayne students to speak with them about healthy eating and maintaining an active lifestyle.

Authorities arrested Jose Augusto Masmela-Sarmiento was arrested on child sex abuse charges in March, 2012 after a local pediatrician contacted the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) to report that a girl had been touched inappropriately. Project categories are creative writing, visual arts, or computer arts and must address four themes: The teacher's work in the classroom; the teacher's role in the union; the teacher's role in the community; and the teacher's impact on the student.
