Rutherford Drug Prevention Coalition Expanding RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Rutherford Community Prevention Coalition is reaching out to the community for new members. The coalition will meet Wednesday, Dec. 9 in the Tamblyn Field Civic Center, and invites anyone interested in addressing drug addiction problems on a local level to attend. ArtsBergen Launches New Logo ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation’s (NNJCF) ArtsBergen initiative is sporting a new look. The Englewood-based nonprofit selected a new logo designed by creative director Ryan Huban. Video: Fort Lee Re-Enactors Salute French Allies FORT LEE, N.J. -- The annual “Retreat to Victory” was enacted Sunday at Fort Lee Historic Park, but with a very appropriate twist: a show of solidarity with France.Participants hoisted a French flag along with the Stars and Stripes, and played the French national anthem. Thanksgiving Turkey Prices Are Higher Than Ever Turkey prices this year are the highest ever -- but even so, they are lower than industry experts predicted, according to industry site Marketwatch.com. The average price of a 16-lb. turkey this year will be about $23.04 -- a little less than $2 more than last year’s price of $21.65, an informal survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation says. Avian flu was expected to drive up costs -- and it did, but not as much as expected, Marketwatch.com said. Turkey production was down only slightly. Garfield Prevention Coalition Works Toward Healthier Community GARFIELD, N.J. -- The Garfield Prevention Coalition continues seeking volunteers dedicated to working together to fight addiction. The organization’s next meeting is Thursday, Dec. 10. The coalition grew out of Garfield EPIC (Empower Peers & Inspire Change), a youth coalition that originally focused on underage drinking.
