Police at first didn’t have a report of a jumper but subsequently spoke with a witness who said the man “walked up to railing, climbed over, and jumped without notice,” the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight.

The body was brought to the 125th Street boat basin in Manhattan around 4:50 p.m. and taken to the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office, he said.
