Producer Of Popular Nike, 'Dawn Saves Wildlife' Commercials From NJ Michael Downey Dies, 57
Michael Joseph Downey, a Norwood resident who produced the well-reviewed movie "Roadie" and popular television commercials died on Sunday, March 18 at the age of 57, according to his obituary.
Downey and his wife Christen founded Hero Content, which produced commercials for Nike and Proctor and Gamble, like the popular "Dawn Saves Wildlife" commercials.
Downey assisted with charitable campaigns for Hackensack University Health Network, the PAL Wrestling Program and Family Promise of Bergen County, his obituary reads.

NJ Coach, Teacher Sentenced For Sexual Assault Of Student
A former teacher and coach has been sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison for sexually assaulting a student, authorities said.
Matthew Rennie, 29, of Ringoes, in Hunterdon County, was sentenced on Friday, March 17, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
Rennie was arrested on Oct. 6, 2021, after a 17-year-old girl reported to Franklin Township Police that she was sexually assaulted by Rennie, who is employed at a private educational institution in Somerset County, McDonald said.
McDonald did not name the institution in Franklin Township.

Beloved actor Alan Alda, a former longtime Leonia resident, revealed on Tuesday that he's had Parkinson’s disease the past 3½ years.
Alda, 82, told “CBS This Morning” that he'd noticed his thumb twitch during TV appearances the past few weeks and didn't want speculations about his health to become tabloid fodder.
