The good Samaritan told police he was pulling into his spot in the parking lot of Fair Lawn Commons on Hoitsma Court when he spotted Kevin Stark Jr., 41, of Elmwood Park, in his neighbor’s 2015 Nissan Altima, removing items.

When the man approached approached him about what he was doing, Stark "attempted to push him off," Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Soon after, Stark was out cold.

Items that had been removed from the vehicle included baseball equipment, a GPS and the victim’s debit card, Metzler said.

Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps took Stark to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, after which he was transferred to the county jail.

He remained held on $20,000 bail, charged with robbery, burglary and theft.
