FAIR LAWN, N.J – An 87-year-old Fair Lawn woman was struck by a car driven by an 86-year-old borough man Monday night, authorities said.
The victim was in the crosswalk headed across Fair Lawn Avenue at Radburn Road when she was struck by the 2003 Toyota, causing head and leg injuries, just before 5:30 p.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said.The driver said "he did not see the pedestrian in the roadway," the sergeant added.
The woman remained at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson on Thursday, Metzler said.The driver was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian, he said.
