Fair Lawn Junior Police Academy Registration Opens

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- The Fair Lawn Police Department’s popular annual Junior Police Academy runs this year from July 17-21.

The free training includes visits to the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Complex in Mahwah, the county courthouse in Hackensack and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, where recruits will see the inner workings of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the K-9 Unit, the Bomb Squad and the Regional SWAT Team.

They’ll also visit the Fair Lawn Fire Department, Rescue Squad and Ambulance Corps.

Junior recruits must be between 11-14 before Aug. 1 to apply.

Applications can be picked up at Fair Lawn Police Headquarters, 8-01 Fair Lawn Ave., and will be accepted on a first-come basis (Space is limited).
