Customers Halt Hammer-Wielding Patron In Fair Lawn Bar Fight

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- A Fair Lawn pub patron who got into an argument with another man left and returned with a hammer but was stopped by other customers from using it, police said.

Francis Schneider, 53, was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses and released pending a court hearing after the 1:30 a.m. incident Sunday at JJ's Pub on Broadway (Route 4) at Plaza Road, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
