Richard P. Farrant, 54, took a deposit from a South Broadway homeowner for repairs in December 2015 and never began the work, Sgt. Brian Metzler said Monday.
Fair Lawn police charged him with theft and wrongful impersonation.
Farrant and his son, Richard C. Farant, were charged last month with conspiracy, theft by deception, fraud and hindering apprehension, among other offenses, after authorities said they stiffed a Long Beach Township homeowner for contracted storm-related window replacement, authorities said.
The elder Farrant -- also known as Rich Robertson -- was arrested in North Carolina two years ago by investigators who accused him of not doing paid-for window replacement work after posing as an energy audit specialist.
Consumers there filed 44 complaint against him under four business names, records show.
