2nd Time In Week: Brush Fire Halts Train Service In Glen Rock

GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- For the second time in less than a week, a brush fire Friday suspended train traffic on the line through Glen Rock.

The blaze was contained to a small area and extinguished by Glen Rock firefighters using water cans, shovels and rakes after an NJ Transit maintenance worker spotted it off the 500 block of Broad Street.

Glen Rock and NJ Transit police also responded, along with Hawthorne firefighters.

Last Saturday, a passing train apparently ignited a series of brush fires along NJ Transit tracks in Glen Rock.SEE: Glen Rock Brush Fires Halt NJ Transit Service
