FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Mercedes L. Pungot, of Fair Lawn, died on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
Born and raised in Bacolod City, Philippines she immigrated to the United States in 1980 residing in Lincoln Park and West New York, prior to settling in Fair Lawn 26 years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Saddle Brook. She was a member of the New Jersey Nurses Association. An avid New York Giants fan, she loved event planning and spending time with family and friends. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack for 33 years.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Pungot; son, Andrew Pungot; siblings, Jojie Labayen and Lynn Beato and husband Carlos and 9 siblings residing in the Philippines.
