Glen Rock came in at number 35 on the list, which identified communities with a population of more than 10,000 people in 2013 and reported complete crime data to the FBI.

"Walkability is one of the reasons people choose to call Glen Rock home. A school system which ranks among the state’s best, diverse housing, and close proximity to Manhattan are more," SafeWise wrote in its survey.

"Suffice it to say, Glen Rock’s Newcomers Club is never short on members. The fact that the community cited just one incident of violent crime only adds to Glen Rock’s appeal."

SafeWise reviewed the latest FBI Crime Report statistics, comparing the number of reported violent crimes (murder, robbery, rape, and aggravated assault) and property crimes (burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson) in each city.
