'Oliver!': Fair Lawn Cast, Crew Consider Themselves Part Of Community

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- The cast and crew at Fair Lawn's Old Library Theatre want their production of "Oliver!" to be more than a feast for the eyes and food for the soul: They've been collecting "Food, Glorious Food" donations for The Center for Food Action in Hackensack during their shows.

Anyone who contributes at the donation station located in the lobby for each of the remaining three performances at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation (10-10 20th St.) will receive a coupon for a free refreshment.

Shows times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5 and 6, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7.

Adult general admission seat are $20 each, while students and seniors pay $18. Children under 12: $10.

As for the show itself: With music, book, and lyrics by Lionel Bart, "Oliver!" brings Charles Dickens's beloved novel to life, taking audiences on an adventure through Victorian England.

Directing is Scott Baird, whose credit include various presentations at his alma mater, Montclair State University, among other venues.
