Swiss flight LX19 took off from Newark at 9:50 p.m. but turned around after the passenger behaved abusively toward the crew, said Silvia Exer-Kuhn, a spokeswoman for Swiss Airlines.
The passenger was met with police upon arrival in Newark, Exer-Kuhn said.
There were 236 passengers and 13 crew members on board, Exer-Kuhn said. The passengers were rebooked on other flights, Exer-Kuhn said.
