Newark Gunman, Accomplice In Custody After Aggravated Assault Incident: Police
A Newark man pointed a gun at a woman before fleeing with an accomplice to a home where he was later arrested Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. Newark officers responded to a report of a man pointing a gun at a woman during an argument near Market Street and Littleton Avenue around 1:15 p.m., Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said. The man then fled the scene in a white Nissan Altima driven by a woman who had been involved in the argument with the victim, authorities said. : Armed Suspect Accused Of Abducting Infant Reportedly In Custody
A 27-year-old man accused of abducting an infant girl was apparently arrested in East Orange approximately 30 minutes after police issued an Amber Alert. The baby girl, Chinna Payne, was unharmed, initial police reports say. Damion Payne, 27, was accused of abducting the girl at gunpoint, according to a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) alert issued at 2:37 p.m. He then fled in a white Nissan Altima with Virginia plates, police said. Payne was reportedly located on South Munn Avenue, in East Orange.
