Ex-con Shamar Leggette was the subject of a manhunt following the infamous 2022 gunpoint robbery of "Bling Bishop" Lamor Whitehead of Paramus during a live-streamed church service in Brooklyn. Downhill Tow Truck Slams Into North Bergen Home A tow truck towing a USPS truck slammed into the porch of a North Bergen home on Friday, Dec. 29. The truck was going downhill on 73rd at Grand Avenue when the back wheels came off the ground, sending the truck flying down to Liberty Avenue, where the driver crashed into the porch of the home, Police Capt. Jorge Raposo said. Had the truck not crashed into the home it would've gone right into Route 1&9, which was experiencing bumper-to-bumper traffic, the captain said.

Four Arrested After Two Stolen Vehicles Recovered: Linden PD Four people were arrested in Linden last week after police recovered two stolen vehicles, police said. On Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 8:40 p.m., officers were alerted to a stolen U-Haul van traveling southbound on Route 1. Police located the van at South Stiles Street and arrested Anthony Miguel, a 30-year-old Mount Holly resident and Marcello Miguel, a 21-year-old Mount Ephraim resident, officers said. Serious Crash Shuts Down Rt.1 South In Linden Rt. 1 South in Linden was closed Tuesday morning for a crash investigation.  The crash occurred around 4:15 a.m., when a 2008 Infiniti struck a 2004 Ford Explorer as it was turning left from Rt. 1 North onto S. Wood Ave., police said.  The drivers, a 25-year-old Elizabeth man and a 29-year-old Woodbridge woman, were taken to University Hospital in Newark with serious injuries.  Rt. 1 South was expected to be re-opened around 7 a.m., police said.  Anyone with information is urged to call Investigator Miesko Niedziolka at (908) 474-8505.
