Frank Pawlowski, Former Bayonne Police Chief Dies, 80 Frank Pawlowski, who served as Bayonne Police Chief from 1997 to 2004, died on Monday, Aug. 28 at the age of 80, Mayor Jimmy Davis announced. Pawlowski was born and raised in Bayonne, helping his father run Pop's Corner, which was known for its roast beef sandwiches, according to his obituary.
