A 60-year-old West New York woman suffered a collapsed lung after being pinned under a USPS truck in North Bergen Tuesday night, Jan. 30, sources tell Daily Voice. The off-duty USPS driver was turning left from 45th Street onto the Bergen Turnpike when he struck the woman crossing from west to east. Once the driver felt the impact, he didn't know if he should keep driving or stop his truck. Air Conditioner Blocks Firefighters From Rescuing Victim In Sussex County Blaze
Firefighters had no choice but to brave the flames and smoke ravaging a Sussex County home in order to rescue a victim this weekend. The blaze in the Lake Lackawanna section of Byram Township was one of two for firefighters on Saturday, Nov. 18. This one broke out around 3:51 a.m., the local fire department said. Responders: Child Airlifted After Apparent Bergen Drowning Rescue
UPDATE: A 2-year-old Old Tappan boy who was pulled from a backyard swimming pool died despite furious efforts to save his life, authorities said Friday. "They worked on him in the ER for 20 minutes before pronouncing him" at Hackensack University Medical Center, a responder said.
