New Milford PD: Hackensack Ex-Con Made Dozens Of Threatening Calls To Police, Local School
An ex-con with a history of making threats used racial slurs in alarming calls to a New Milford school, followed by 26 similar calls to borough police, authorities charged.
The first call by Sean Michael Persons, 39, of Hackensack last week was “threatening, offensive and had racial rhetoric,” alarming school administrators, Police Capt. Kevin Van Saders said.

Heroes: Softball Player Not Breathing, No Pulse, Revived By Local Police In Bergen
A player had just collapsed at New Milford's new softball field when police arrived and found an off-duty nurse tending to him. He wasn't breathing and had no pulse, Police Chief Brian Clancy said.
Officers Dennis Calacione and Kyle Hill, Sgt. Michael Lafrano and Detective Przemyslaw Boinski began CPR on the 43-year-old victim at Knights Field off River Road shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, the chief said.

Bergen Robbery Trio Severely Beat Man For $600 Sneakers, Authorities Charge
Three Bergen County robbers severely beat a young Emerson man, taking a pair of $600 sneakers and a vape cartridge, in a violent pre-planned attack, authorities charged.
Bergenfield residents Jacob Inglis, 19, and Colin Murphy, 18, and Cameron Schneid, 20, of New Milford were each seized at their homes early Wednesday, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella confirmed.
Their cellphones, among other items, were also confiscated, investigators said.

New Milford PD: Knives, Crack Found During Stop, Passaic County Couple Busted
A New Milford police stop turned up knives, crack and outstanding warrants on both the driver and passenger, authorities said.
Offficer Nick Williams and backup Officer Andy Lignos found the warrants on the Passaic County couple -- Maria Mezerenez, 35, and her passenger, ex-con Benjamin Quirindongo, 38, during the late-night Saturday stop, Police Chief Brian Clancy said.
They also found crack and drug paraphernalia in plain view, along with an 8-inch serrated knife, a 3½-inch shank and a box cutter, all of which were "immediately reachable" under the driver's seat, the chief said.
