Man Killed In Route 31 Crash After Car Overturns In Ditch: Police
A 56-year-old Columbia resident was killed in a car crash on Route 31 in Warren County on the morning of Monday, Oct. 14, authorities said. At 5:43 a.m., officers responded to the car crash where they found a Chevy Avalanche had overturned, Washington Township police said. A preliminary investigation revealed the Chevy was traveling southbound on Route 31 north when it left the roadway, striking the guardrail and bridge abutment before rolling over into a ditch, police said. The vehicle left the roadway on Route 80 eastbound at Exit 47A in Parsippany-Troy Hills, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. One lane is closed, the Department of Transportation said. It is unknown if there are any injuries.

Truck Fire Closes Two Lanes On Route 78 In Union County: DOT
A truck fire on Route 78 in Union Township on the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 2 is causing heavy delays, authorities said. The truck fire occurred on Route 78 East West of Exit 13 on Union Township and has caused two right lanes of three lanes to be closed, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. The current travel time is 45 to 50 minutes, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said.

The truck overturned following a crash on the turnpike at the Western Spur northbound exit ramp at Interchange 15W by Route 280, the Department of Transportation said. The right shoulder is blocked as a result of the crash, the DOT said.

A Linden man was killed when his tractor-trailer crashed and exploded in Clifton, authorities said.
