14-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Jersey City Shooting: Prosecutor
A 14-year-old Jersey City boy was arrested and charged as a juvenile with murder on Monday, Oct. 21, in connection with a shooting that killed a 19-year-old on Friday, Oct. 11. At 5 p.m., Jersey City police responded to shots fired in Garfield Avenue and found Kashyne Grant suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead just after 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14. The 14-year-old was charged with murder and multiple weapons offenses, Suarez said.

A 37-year-old Jersey City woman was arrested and charged with intentionally striking a pedestrian in Bayonne on Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. Man Shot In Jersey City: Authorities
A 34-year-old man was briefly hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Jersey City on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 6, authorities said. At 3:35 a.m., the man was transported to a nearby hospital from Eastern Parkway and Garfield Avenue after he sustained non-life threatening injuries to the right buttocks, right thigh area and right wrist, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.
