Newark Police Seek ID For Masked Man In Attempted Armored Carjacking Police in Newark are seeking the public’s help identifying a man they say attempted to carjack an armored vehicle Thursday afternoon. A man, pictured above, entered a Garda armored car occupied by a security guard at Wells Fargo on South Orange Avenue around 1:30 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. The man hit two adjacent vehicles and fled the scene, running southbound on Stuyvesant Avenue toward Rockland Terrace, Ambrose said.
