Route 46 Crash Takes Down Traffic Signal, Utility Pole (Photos) A crash on Route 46 brought down a traffic signal and utility pole over the weekend, authorities said. The Dover Fire Department responded to the crash at Mt. Hope Avenue and Route 46 in Dover and confirmed a downed pole on Saturday, April 16, authorities said. Crews worked to mitigate a fluid spill as the NJDOT was requested to replace the signal, the department said. Route 46 was temporarily closed as the crash scene was cleared. Overturned Tractor-Trailer Spills Fluid, Causes Delays On Route 24 A tractor-trailer overturned and caused a large fluid spill on Route 24 Wednesday afternoon, initial reports say. The truck overturned on the eastbound ramp that leads to Route 78 west in Springfield Township shortly before 1:20 p.m., according to 511nj.org. The County Hazardous Materials Unit responded to the scene to clear a large fluid spill, according to initial and unconfirmed reports.
