Man Shot In Newark: Police A man was shot in Newark on the early morning of Friday, April 5, authorities said. At 3:28 a.m., police responded to Astor Street near Pennsylvania Avenue on a report of a shooting, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. Officers were advised a man had arrived at University Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and is in stable condition, Fragé said. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 1-877-695-8477.

At 10:29 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired at Astor Street near Pennsylvania Avenue,  Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Police found a man who had been shot and he was transported to University Hospital, Fragé said.
