18-Year-Old Shot, Killed In East Orange An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday night in East Orange, authorities said. Ahlayah Bowens was shot on Hoffman Boulevard at approximately 9:10 p.m., and rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:24 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests had been made as of Monday evening.
