Seen HIM? Authorities Looking For Information In 2017 Newark Killing

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Thursday released images from surveillance video recorded near the scene of a fatal shooting two years ago (attached) and are asking the public's help identifying the person.

On Oct, 17, 2017, police responded to the 300 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard in Newark on a report of a shooting. They found Eric Jones, 25, of Newark, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital shortly afterwards.

The images show a male wearing a mask and hoodie who was at 301 Irvine Turner Boulevard on the day Jones was killed.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the person pictured or on the circumstances surrounding Jones’ death is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force tips line at 1-877 TIPS- 4EC (1-877-847-7432).
