Off-Duty Officer Shoots At Newark Burglary Suspect

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating after an off-duty police officer chasing a burglary suspect fired his gun in Newark.

No injuries were reported in the area of Summer Avenue and Elliot Street at approximately 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly told Daily Voice.

Fennelly did not release the officer's name or any details.
