Multiple Systems Have Potential To Be Next Named Tropical Storm Of Hurricane Season
Three areas are being monitored for the potential to become the next named tropical storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, with one of them having a strong chance. In particular, an area in the southwest Caribbean has a high chance of development, according to an update Friday morning, Nov. 1 by the National Hurricane Center, rating the chance at 70 percent. NJ Transit officials have released the name of the motorist killed by a train earlier this week in Morris County. Michael Carbone, 77, of Pompton Plains, was struck by Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 after he disregarded the crossing gates at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, a spokesperson for NJ Transit said. AG IDs Man Killed After Police Respond To Bayonne Apartment
A 44-year-old Bayonne man was identified on Friday, Nov. 1 as the victim following a police encounter, the state Attorney General's Office said. At 12:18 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, police responded to an apartment on Broadway after a 911 caller reported hearing a lot of screaming from the apartment, the Attorney General's office said. Responding officers approached the apartment described by the caller and heard yelling coming from inside, authorities said. Hoboken PATH Station Closing In February For Repairs: Port Authoit
As part of a repair project, the Port Authority announced the PATH Hoboken station will be closed from Thursday, Jan. 30 to Tuesday, Feb. 25. The move comes as part of the agency's two-year $430 million PATH Forward program. Cases of walking pneumonia have spiked significantly, especially among children, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is warning in a brand-new advisory. A former Columbia University vice president has been convicted of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 years old at his Bergen County home, authorities announced.
