Northeast Cities Among Most Diverse In US: Here's What A New Study Says
The US population is rapidly diversifying, with cities in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic at the forefront, according to a new study.
WalletHub released its 2025 ranking of the nation's Most Diverse Cities on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Three Maryland communities topped the list of 501 locations, which were evaluated based on socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household, and religious diversity.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 10.2 percent of Americans identified as multiracial in 2020, a sharp increase from just 2.9 percent in 2010.

Those who knew Elizabet Rodrigues say every day she spent fighting cancer was done fearlessly with grace and equanimity.
Rodrigues fought valiantly for six years right up until Jan. 21, when the 42-year-old Kearny resident lost her battle.
Rodrigues -- affectionately known as simply, Liz -- is being remembered for her for her bravery, unbounded love and kindness.
Born in Waterbury, CT, and a former resident of Prospect Park, Rodrigues was a manager for Best Buy in Woodland Park, and later the store in Paramus, her obituary says.

Nj-based Toys 'R' Us Closing 182 Stores, Including Location In Bergen
Toys "R" Us, which filed for bankruptcy last fall, plans to close as many as 182 outlets, about one-fifth of its total number of stores across the country, according to a court filing late Tuesday.
A shift by customers to online shopping and increased competition led to the move, the Wayne, New Jersey-based company said.
