A brawl between two adult soccer teams brought police and ambulances from several area towns to Superdome Sports in Waldwick late Tuesday. Officers from Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood and Wyckoff joined their borough colleagues after up to 25 players came to blows at the indoor field on Hopper Avenue around 11 p.m. Dec. 19, Waldwick Police Lt. Nasty Crash Near Route 17 Sends Two To Hospital
Two people were hospitalized following a crash at a busy Ho-Ho-Kus intersection. The collision at the five corners at Sheridan and Hollywood avenues near Gilbert Road around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 severely damaged an SUV and a wagon. Both victims were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't immediately considered life-threatening. A car carrier loaded with hybrids caught fire, causing some major morning headaches on northbound Route 17. Special foam was needed to help extinguish the blaze, which apparently broke out in the brake system and spread early Wednesday, Sept. 28, Saddle River Police Chief Jason Cosgriff said. A trio of Waldwick police officers revived a heroin-carrying driver who passed out from an overdose behind the wheel of a van stopped at an intersection, authorities said Saturday. Sgt. WALDWICK, N.J. -- A Waldwick gang member was sent to federal prison for three years Wednesday for smashing a carjacked cab driver in the head with a beer bottle before his accomplices dumped the victim on the side of the New York State Thruway in Orange County.
