“It appears to have been a hoax,” Detective Capt. Tim Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

The person who received the threat called police just after 3:30 p.m.

The elite Englewood Emergency Services Unit responded and summoned the Bergen County Bomb Squad.

City Hall, the targeted business on West Palisade Avenue and several other area businesses were evacuated as a precaution, while ambulances and paramedics remained on standby.

Soon after, the all-clear was given.
