A routine traffic stop led to two arrests in Bensalem, township police said in a release. Officers stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe for a faulty brake light, a broken mirror, and a suspended registration on Saturday, April 13, authorities said. Police said the driver, 33-year-old Brittany Dougherty of Philadelphia, was found to have a warrant for theft at a Bensalem Kohl's, a warrant for burglary in Camden, New Jersey, and a warrant for robbery out of Evesham, New Jersey. A 45-year-old woman was killed when she was ejected from a vehicle she was riding in, in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, authorities said. Troopers responded to the crash at 7:15 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway in Westampton, where the driver of a Chevrolet lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the right, traveled down an embankment and subsequently overturned, Trooper Troy McNair said. Woodstown Man, 37, Killed In Greenwich Crash With Tree: State Police
A 37-year-old Salem County man was killed when he ran off a Cumberland County road and hit a tree, authorities said. Douglas G. Hitchner Jr., of Woodstown, was driving south in a Chevrolet SUV on Tindall Island Road in Greenwich Township at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 when his vehicle veered off the road to the right side, according to Detective I Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman with the New Jersey State Police. The SUV hit a tree and Hitchner sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation.

Tens of thousands of Chevrolet trucks are being subject to a national recall due to a faulty switch that could potentially pose an increased risk of sparking a fire. A 57-year-old driver from Gloucester County was killed in a collision at a Salem County intersection, authorities said. Daniel Lehner, of Newfield, was driving a Chevrolet Express van west on Route 40 in Pilesgrove Township at 6:29 a.m. on Feb. 2 when his van collided with a Toyota Highlander traveling north on Route 646/Pointers Auburn Road, according to New Jersey State Police. Lehner was killed in the collision, State Police said. The driver of the Highlander, Cheryl Freels, 45, of Quinton, suffered serious injuries, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

Two people were seriously injured in a two-car crash in Cumberland County, authorities said. The crash occurred at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday at Route 553 and Route 629 in Lawrence Township, New Jersey State Police said. Preliminary investigation shows a Toyota Camry was traveling south on CR 629 and entered the intersection when a Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling south on County Route 553 struck the Toyota, Trooper Brandi Slota said.
