Officials in Wildwood are making themselves loud and clear: "H2oi is not welcome here." H2oi, last year's pop-up car rally that left two people dead and others seriously injured, will not be happening this year. Wildwood police on Facebook this week said they've been closely monitoring small groups on social media who have been trying to plan a repeat of the event. Another H2oi Arrest Made With More Possibly On The Way
Yet another arrest has been made in the deadly H2oi meetup held last month in Wildwood and authorities say more could be on the way. Zion Diaz, of Hammonton, told others to block intersections, perform "burnouts" and block police vehicles from responding to emergency calls the night of Sept. 24, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said. Diaz was arrested without incident and was charged with riot, a crime of the 4th degree. Diaz was processed and released on a summons pending Court proceedings. BMW Driver Was Doing 'Burn Out' In H2oi Golf Cart Crash That Hurt Dad: Prosecutor
A 22-year-old man from Linden has been arrested in connection with a golf cart crash that left a 31-year-old dad hurt during the H2oi weekend meet-up in Wildwood, authorities said. Eryk R. Wnek was doing a "burn out" in his 2020 BMW when he collided with another vehicle and then the golf cart, operated by Erhan Bayram, of Williamstown around 9:23 p.m. on Rio Grande and Park Boulevard around 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Pittsburgh Driver Charged With Killing Two Victims During H2Oi Event In Wildwood
A Pittsburg driver has been charged will killing two people and trying to flee during the H2oi car meetup Saturday, Sept. 24 in Wildwood, authorities announced. Gerald J. White, 37, was behind the wheel of a 2003 Infinity when he struck a 2014 Honda Civic near Burk and Atlantic avenues, and then two pedestrians around 9:35 p.m., Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Hearts shattered when the news broke that a missing swimmer off the Wildwood coast from Pennsylvania was believed to have drowned late last month. Three swimmers were rescued or found their way out of the waters while Alfred Williams, 19, of Drexel Hill, remained missing Tuesday, May 31, Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto and Wildwood Fire Chief Ernie Troiano III said. A Camden County woman led police on multiple pursuits in a stolen oil tanker truck before being arrested at a Wawa store, nearly 80 miles from where she found the truck, police said. Boy, 6, Drowns In Wildwood Hotel Pool
A 6-year-old boy drowned in a Wildwood hotel pool over the Fourth of July weekend. Police responded to Beachside Resort on Atlantic Avenue for a possible drowning with CPR in progress around 6:30 p.m. July 3, the Wildwood police and fire departments said in a joint police.
