Passaic County is seeing red for the first time since 1992. The reliably Democrat county voted for President-elect Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris, 95,620 votes to 89,086 votes, 50% to 46.6%. Two teenagers were airlifted with serious injuries in a North Jersey crash with an SUV on Tuesday, Oct. 8, police said. Morris County Man Struck, Killed By Car In West Milford
A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in West Milford, authorities said. Mod A. Khader, of Lincoln Park, was trying to cross Route 23 south when he was struck by a vehicle around 6 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said. Khader was taken to Chilton Hospital where he died at 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck Khader remained at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.

Thomas Dinan, a police officer in West Milford, died on Tuesday, July 30, 10 days after his 66th birthday, the department announced. Nearly 950 Hackensack Residents Without Power After Thunderstorms
A storm system that swept through the region Saturday afternoon, Aug. 3 left hundreds of North Jersey residents without power. As of 5:40 p.m., about 950 PSE&G customers in Hackensack did not have power, its website shows. In Closter, 145 Orange & Rockland customers were in the dark. In West Milford, more than 500 residents did not have power. Most of those customers were JCP&L. The storms, which brought temps down to the high-70s, had subsided as of press time.

An off-duty police officer came to the aid of an 18-year-old man who was struck by a boat propeller on Greenwood Lake last month. Vernon Cpl. A driver whose sedan slammed into a utility pole on a busy West Milford road was hospitalized and charged with DWI, authorities said.
