A SWAT team was justified in shooting and killing a former UPS employee as he chased at an ex-girlfriend at his old job, firing a handgun at her, after taking her and another woman hostage, New Jersey's attorney general said Wednesday.
The beaten, bleeding woman had broken away from William J. Owens, 39, of Sicklerville (Camden County) during what had been a 3½-hour standoff with police.

Rockaway Company's Bus In Fatal PA Crash Had No Passenger Seatbelts, Victims ID'd
The tour bus owned by Rockaway-based Z & D Tours in an early-morning crash that killed five people had no passenger seatbelts, federal officials said Monday.
The bus' driver, Shuang Qing Feng, lost control and hitting a concrete median along the Pennsylvania Turnpike around 3:40 a.m. Sunday, National Transportation Safety Board official Jennifer Homendy said.
The bus shot up an embankment, flipped on its side and then back into the barrier, at which point a FedEx truck slammed into the bus's undercarriage, she said.

Teaneck PD: Drunk UPS Driver Crashes, Flees, Leaving Injured Woman Behind
A drunken UPS driver from Secaucus who crashed his truck in Teaneck jumped out and ran away, leaving his injured helper pinned inside, said police who captured him a short time later.
A Bergen County sheriff's K-9 unit tracked down Matthew Montgomery, 35, who was found hiding in a backyard on Park Avenue by Teaneck and Bogota police, Capt. Michael Ferrante said.
