: Fair Lawn Girl, 10, Struck Bicycling To School
A 10-year-old Fair Lawn girl told authorities that a hit-and-run driver sideswiped her as she rode her bicycle to school Tuesday morning. The Memorial Middle School pupil sustained a minor knee injury when she was knocked down at 12th Street and Norma Avenue, Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The incident was reported from the school at 8:30 a.m. but had apparently occurred earlier, Metzler said. Clifton Driver Charged With Injuring Paterson Officer In Route 20 Construction Site Hit-Run
A Clifton driver left his SUV and ran after it struck a Paterson police cruiser -- seriously injuring a city officer -- at a Route 20 construction site, authorities said. Aaron Rosas, 32, drove his 2020 Acura MDX through a barricaded construction site between 4th and 5th avenues around 4 a.m. last Saturday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Fort Lee police believe a vehicle that left the scene may have been responsible for a Sunday afternoon crash that ejected a motorcyclist. The 44-year-old victim from Greenwood Lake was headed north on Route 1 when a gray-colored SUV apparently caused him to lose control of his 2004 Suzuki near the Dunkin Donuts shortly before 2:30 p.m., Capt. A 7-year-old Leonia girl was hospitalized with serious injuries after she was run over by an SUV driven by a relative in what authorities said was a tragic accident. It was dark and raining steadily when the driver dropped off four passengers in a parking lot near the corner of Grand Avenue and Fort Lee Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday, according to a borough police report. Ford is recalling more than 375,000 Explorers to repair or replace a a suspension part that can break and cause crashes. Customers will notified beginning Nov. 30, the automaker said, adding that dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace parts if necessary. A driver slammed a brand-new MINI Cooper into the divider on Route 4 in Teaneck, then ran off into nearby woods before dawn Saturday, authorities confirmed. The MINI was totaled and two other vehicles damaged in the overnight chain-reaction crash, which closed the westbound highway for hours. Electric Scooter Rider, 48, Struck, Killed By SUV In Jersey City
A 48-year-old man riding an electric scooter died after being struck by an SUV in Jersey City, authorities said. The rider was struck by a 56-year-old woman driving a Nissan Rogue on the 700 block of Ocean Avenue around 4:20 p.m., Jersey City officials said. The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. The Nissan driver had not been charged as of Friday. The identities of the victim and driver were not released.

Rollover Crash Jams Route 17 In Paramus
An SUV overturned in a crash Tuesday afternoon that temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Route 17 near the Garden State Parkway in Paramus. At least one occupant was injured, though apparently not seriously, in the 12:45 p.m. two-vehicle crash, responders said. SUV Hits Parked Car, Slams Into Utility Pole In Glen Rock
An SUV hit an occupied parked car before slamming head-on into a utility pole Monday in Glen Rock. Neither the Honda Pilot nor the driver who was making a cellphone call in a sedan parked in the 500 block of Harristown Road was injured in the afternoon crash, responders said. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked SUV, while the sedan was driven from the scene. Borough police responded. The SUV hit a parked car and then the pole on Harristown Road in Glen Rock.Boyd A.
