Hero: Off-Duty Ridgefield Firefighter Helps Officer Save Unresponsive Man In Crash A Ridgefield firefighter is being hailed a hero after saving a man's life at the scene of a car crash earlier this week. On Wednesday, Feb. 5, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Ridgefield Fire Lt. Matthew Bonaguaro was on his way home from work when he came upon a motor vehicle accident on Grand Avenue involving two cars, the fire department said. Bonaguaro noticed Ridgefield Police Officer Faith Karabiyik assisting an unresponsive man who had been pulled from one of the vehicles. Longtime Saddle Brook Crossing Guard Roberta Tommas Cobb Dies, 59 Longtime Saddle Brook crossing guard Roberta Ann Tommas Cobb died on Sept. 16. She was 59 years old. A committal service was held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Roberta was predeceased by her husband, Gregg R. Cobb. She is survived by her three children, Gregg R. Cobb Jr., Christopher Cobb and his wife Diane Crespo and Danielle Russo and her husband Scott; her father Richard Tommas; and brothers, Richard Tommas Jr. and his wife Laura and Arthur Tommas and his wife Gloria.
